    JOB SUMMARY:

     

    Assist the Controller in directing the Corporation’s accounting functions, including establishing and maintaining the Corporation’s accounting principles, practices and procedures. Prepare financial statements, supervise operational accounting areas, design and improve processes. The Assistant Controller is the primary point of contact for the annual external audit.

     

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

     

    • General supervision of the several accounting related areas.
    • Participate in month-end closing procedures including financial reporting.
    • Perform financial and operational analysis as needed.
    • Manage account reconciliation and review process.
    • Coordinate all aspects of year end outside audit.
    • Improve processes and internal controls in all areas managed.
    • Assist Controller with special projects when necessary.

     

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    • Four year degree in Accounting.
    • CPA Certification.
    • Five years of progressive supervisory experience in the accounting related field.
    • Four to six years progressive accounting experience, preferably in a financial accounting.
    • Thorough knowledge of GAAP.
    • Computer literate (advanced level), MS Excel spreadsheets, ERP software package, relational database query experience (SQL) preferred.
    • Demonstrated success managing, developing and providing guidance to an accounting team.
    • Proven process improvement and automation background.
    • Excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills.
    • Corporate income, property and sales tax knowledge desired.
