    JOB SUMMARY:

     

    This position will be responsible for, but not limited to: the success of assigned functions within a distribution center environment to ensure that it is an outstanding place to work. The DC Operations Manager works with the DC Manager to develop strategies and objectives to maximize productivity and leverage expenses for the Badcock Distribution Center. DC Operations Managers must analyze trends, solve problems and motivate and develop themselves and associates in order to maximize contribution to the DC success - typically manages through several Supervisors to achieve results from a large number of hourly associates. The position assists the DC Manager with the DC's financial, employee morale, people and process and service related objectives to drive continuous improvement and efficiency gains to reduce overall cost-to-serve; leads associates, and peers to anticipate and solve problems and plan for upcoming promotional events, seasonal changes, etc. The position is responsible for both the efficiency and effectiveness of the distribution center, managing inbound processes related to receipt, storage, inventory control of merchandise, and overseeing all outbound processes related to order-filling, shipping, and quality assurance. The DC Operations Manager is responsible for customer service, facility and equipment operation, profit protection measures, administration of the DC’s inventory management, labor productivity, quality, accuracy, loss prevention programs, and must ensure a culture of safety throughout the organization by following & enforcing compliance with all Badcock safety policies and procedures.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Oversee all daily activities related to the efficient flow of product throughout the distribution center, promoting the highest level of service to our internal and external customers, with a continuous acceleration towards excellence;
    • Manages, coaches, trains, motivates and develops supervisors, leads and associates to maximize performance and achieve aggressive goals and objectives as outlined in the Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) of Safety, Service, and Quality.
    • Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet service, financial and operational support demands; allocate resources to accomplish workloads and set priorities to maintain consistent work flow for all associates in a productive manner;
    • Manage all activities of inventory control, including out-of-stocks, overstocks, receiving errors, and selection/shipping errors.
    • Provide a safe and clean workplace for associates;
    • Monitor damages occurring on shift and investigate;
    • Track team performance via Labor Management System on a hourly/daily/weekly basis;
    • Act as liaison to cross-department partners to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution; coordinate and communicate effectively with all company departments.
    • Assist DC Manager with overseeing the financial performance of the DC, including effective payroll management, operational expense control, damage reduction and capital expenditure

     

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Three to five years supervisory experience in a fast pace distribution center with demonstrated experience in coaching, counseling, disciplining, and evaluating team members;
    • Proficiency and experience with automated Warehouse Management Systems and productivity tracking programs;
    • Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills;
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations;
